Be smart, plan ahead! Talk to your mover well in advance. All movers have very
busy summer months when children are out of school. If possible, avoid the first and last days of the month,
when everyone else plans to move, too.
Skipworth Moving Systems will be glad to explain the transportation rate and the
charges for packing, wardrobe service, extra pick-ups or deliveries, storage, additional value protection and
other services.
Just ask, we will gladly visit and provide a written estimate of your costs for you.
For an accurate estimate, be sure to show the estimator the contents of every room, closet, attic, cellar or garage
so he can accurately gauge your requirements. Surprises on moving day can lead to confusion and a possible delay.
Call promptly should changes occur.
Sometimes, despite the utmost care, loss or damage can occur. Your goods are
partially protected for 30 to 60 cents per pound per article at no extra cost. You may, for a modest charge, place
increased valuation on your goods, or purchase protection insurance. You will be provided literature on additional
options of coverage. Feel free to call and discuss in advance your specific protection requirements and your options.
Be prepared on moving day to sign for the coverage that you want. Please understand that a "carrier's liability" and
"insurance" are not the same thing. It's a good idea to see your insurance agent to determine if you need additional
coverage. All reputable movers will explain their liability for loss or damage to your property and how you can increase
your protection. Set aside jewelry, documents, money, medicines, and especially valuable small items to carry with you
-- do not pack them on the truck Another consideration is a photo album, which may be considered a irreplacable item.
Movers liability may not cover these items.
